On Sunday, May 31, we left at 7:30 following behind The Dash (Lance and Sue), and Ella J ( Brian and Vickie). We had a fairly smooth ride and arrived at about 12:30 in Deltaville, Virginia. We stayed at Safe Harbor Stingray Point. It was a bit remote but very peaceful. It had a lighthouse replica, a swimming pool and free laundry! The 6 of us met for "dock tails" by the pool. I saw an eagle while there, and also saw the "micro blue moon" that night.

On Monday, June 1, we crossed the Chesapeake to Crisfield, Maryland. It was a bit rough so we went fast to make it easier. They had a fairly decent price for diesel fuel so we filled up at Somers Cove Marina where we stayed. The marina was very nice with a pool and bikes. There was not much going on in the town since it was a Monday but it was close by so we visited the pier.  We found a new restaurant that was open called Chesapeake Steak and Seafood. The owner was known for her chicken wings and Tim said they were excellent.

On Tuesday, June 2 we crossed back across the Chesapeake to Solomons, Maryland that we heard was a great town and it did not disappoint! We had another rough cruising day so took it up to 20 mph and got there in 3 hours, dodging crab pots again. We stayed at Safe Harbor Zahnisers, an amazing marina with a pool and an Italian Restaurant, free laundry and free bikes. They also offer to drive you to grocery stores. Zahnisers in a charming neighborhood and easy walking to Solomons and Solomons Island. We walked to nearby CD Cafe and the food was excellent. Then we started exploring Solomons Island and walked to The Pier. Back on the boat, we celebrated 4000 miles of our Loop with our Caymus wine we have at each 1000 miles.

On Wednesday, we did administrative tasks, including free laundry. I sat by the pool in between loads. Later we walked to town with Lance and Sue to eat at Island Hideaway, a wonderful restaurant on the water. While there we ran into Martin and Isabelle from Quebec (boat Marisa). We enjoyed a beautiful sunset on the walk back!

On our last day, Thursday, in Solomons we walked around the island, took the free bikes to CVS for provisions, spent time at the pool, and ended the night eating at at La Vela with Lance and Sue. We truly enjoyed out time in Solomons! Next we are moving on to Annapolis, Maryland!
